The COVID-19 pandemic had a devastating impact on economies worldwide, and India was not spared. The nationwide lockdown imposed to curb the spread of the virus led to widespread job losses and a sharp decline in economic activity. This, in turn, resulted in a significant increase in poverty and food insecurity.
To address this pressing issue, the Raja Education and Bahuuddeshiya Society launched a program to distribute food grains to poor families in need. The program targeted families who had lost their primary source of income due to the pandemic and were struggling to put food on the table.
On 03 Feb, 2022, the Raja Education and Bahuuddeshiya Society began distributing food grains to the beneficiaries. Over the course of the program, a total of 525 families received a sufficient quantity of grains to meet their basic needs for a period of time. The timely intervention helped alleviate hunger and suffering among vulnerable communities.
The program was made possible thanks to the generous contributions of donors. A total of INR 48,750 was spent on procuring and distributing the food grains.
The Raja Education and Bahuuddeshiya Society believes that this program has had a significant impact on the lives of the beneficiaries. By providing them with a basic food supply, the organization has helped to ensure their physical well-being and reduce their stress levels. Moreover, the program has helped to restore hope and dignity among those who have been affected by the pandemic.
The Raja Education and Bahuuddeshiya Society remains committed to serving the needs of the poor and marginalized. The organization will continue to work towards creating a more just and equitable society, where everyone has access to the basic necessities of life.
