Protecting Feet, Fostering Confidence: A Free Shoes Program

Beneficiaries

Funds Spent

INR 52,500

When

28 Aug, 2021

For children from impoverished families, the simple necessity of footwear can be a significant financial burden. In rural areas, where the terrain can be rugged and the risk of snake bites is high, quality footwear is particularly essential. Poor-quality or worn-out shoes can expose children to injuries and infections, hindering their ability to attend school and participate fully in their communities.

To address this pressing issue, the Raja Education and Bahuuddeshiya Society launched a program to distribute free shoes to poor students. The initiative aimed to provide children with the necessary protection for their feet, while also boosting their self-esteem and confidence.

By providing free shoes, the Raja Education and Bahuuddeshiya Society sought to:

  • Reduce financial barriers to education
  • Protect students’ feet from injuries and infections
  • Boost students’ self-esteem and confidence

Since its inception, the Raja Education and Bahuuddeshiya Society has distributed 350 pairs of shoes to deserving students. The most recent distribution took place on 28 August, 2021. The joy and gratitude on the faces of the children as they received their new shoes were heartwarming.

The program has been made possible thanks to the generous support of donors. A total of INR 52,500 has been spent on procuring and distributing the shoes.

The impact of the program has been significant. By providing free shoes, the Raja Education and Bahuuddeshiya Society has helped to protect students’ feet from injuries and infections. This has enabled them to attend school more regularly and participate fully in their studies.

Moreover, the program has helped to boost students’ self-esteem and confidence. Wearing new shoes can make children feel good about themselves and help them to fit in with their peers.

The success of this program demonstrates the importance of addressing the basic needs of students. By providing essential items like footwear, we can help to create a more equitable and inclusive learning environment.

The Raja Education and Bahuuddeshiya Society remains committed to serving the needs of the poor and marginalized. The organization will continue to work towards creating a brighter future for children in rural communities.
